Power Point - Self Loading Your Show

by Ted Peterson
Some of the PSA members that have PSA CD's and would like to use the "Auto Loading" system that the PSA CD's are using need information on how to use that program for their own Power Point shows. This article will tell you how to do this for your own CD Power Point show.
To start with you will need two things. You will need both a PSA self loading CD and your slide show saved in .pps format.
At this time you will need to set up a folder on your hard drive. You can name it any name you want as you will not use the folder when you make your CD. Into this folders copy every thing that is on the PSA CD.
Using the flag key, click on the "e" key and you will see a listing of all the drives on the left and a listing of folders on the right. Click on the folder that you had saved the PSA disk to, and you will see that there are 3 folders and a group of 26 extra files, etc. DO NOT touch the 26 extra files as you will need them to run your new CD.
Click on the first folder (Present) and you will see 2 files, they are present.lst and a listing of the .pps that your PSA CD had. Replace the .pps with your new Power Point .pps file and delete the old one. Double click on "present.lst" with the RIGHT mouse and you will see a drop down menu. Click on "open with" and then click on "notepad". A file will show up and you will replace what show up with the name and .pps that your Power Point program is. Then close the file. You will get a menu saying "do you want to change the folder?" Say "Yes"
Click on the 2nd set of the 3 folders on your main folder called "psatxt". You can delete the 3 to 7 folders that comes up or add any new FOLDERs that you want. Do not delete any strange folders you find.
DO NOT touch the 3rd folders that you will find on the main folder.
You can now make your own CD. DO NOT copy the main folder name that you set up first. Only all the new folders and 26 extra files. There will NOT be a main folder on your CD. If you end up with one the CD will not self load.
