FLAG KEY on your KEYBOARD

Most people want to know what the Flag key (Key with Microsoft symbol on it that most keyboards have ) does. This is the 2nd key from the left, bottom roll on most pc standard keyboard.
This is used most of the time to program your computer for simple things. I use one of them all the time. What you do is push down the Flag key and then another key and your computer will do certain things.
Microsoft set up all Windows operating programs with 3 different shortcuts to perform special function and most computer programmers can set up a lot more.
The 3 that comes with Windows systems are as follows: Hold down the Flag key with the "r" and your computer will come up with the run program. If you click on the Flag key and the "f" key you will come up with the search program. If you hold down the flag key and click the "e" key My Computer screen will come up better then when you click on My Computer icom.. When you click on MY Computer icom the screen that comes up has a listing of the drives only. If you want the other MY Computer (the one that have the drives on the left and the files or programs on the right) you have to click on the listing called folders. If you use the flag key and the "e" the 2nd listing will come up first. I use this all the time. If you hold down the Flag key only the "Start" listing will come up.
You can then program the Flag key to do a lot of other things. Mr. Ron Mayer in Hawaii has program his computer to call up Juno when he hold down the Flag key and the space bar. Most programers can set up all types of short cuts for you. Ask them.
Most manuals don"t cover this information. This article was written to give a better ideas how it is done.
